Erwin has been with the
Bundesgrenzschutz
[BGS] since 1978. From 1979 - 2001 he was with the BGS unit in
Oerlenbach. He was the liaison NCO with Camp Lee from 1987 to 1990.
He also served as the Liaison NCO to the 1./Hundertschaft and for the
border sector between the Dreilandereck and Muhlfeld / Sondheim. He
also spent a year in the Oerlenback BGS headquarters as the Border NCO.
Erwin has provided a wealth of excellent
photos and a unique perspective to the site.
He is currently stationed in Bayreuth as
a Group Leader in the Anti-Riot branch of the BGS.
