Five images of Bad Kissingen from the mid and late 1930s. In most cases, the street scenes are virtually unchanged between then and now
.

Kurhaus Strasse - Adolf Hilter Strasse - Roosevelt Strasse - Kurhaus Strasse, name progression over the years.

Two images from the Stadt Archiv of Bad Kissingen showing scenes of a very typical Nazi rally that could have been found in any German city or town in the 1930s. This photo is taken from the top window of the building seen in the background in the first photograph and is looking across the central square towards the Rathaus. Massed in the square, to the right of center in their ‘ coffee can caps ‘ local SA men, then in the center wearing helmets of some sort, probably the fire department and then in a larger formation on the left of the image, probably men from Manteuffel Kaserne.

To complete the spectacle, torches are lit and, one must imagine, speeches were made.
