FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Incredible Collection of Albert DeSalvo Letters and Photographs

An amazing collection of letters, photographs, gifts and documents sent by Albert DeSalvo while in Walpole Prison will be offered at auction in the September R&R Enterprises auction. The property of Vivian Wyatt, who as a young 16 year old began corresponding with the jailed DeSalvo, the letters contain his thoughts on prison, missing his family, advice to her about men, a poem on the Boston Strangler and some ambiguous comments on whether he was in fact the Boston Strangler. He also mentions his book that he was working on.

The correspondence between the two went on for 6- 7 months, During this time De Salvo looked upon her as surrogate daughter as he lamented that contact with his own children had been severed. Among the items offered for sale in the auction is a handmade gift sent to Vivian Wyatt in Christmas 1972.

Within the 22 lots offered by R&R, are: a signed copy of his poem entitled "The Boston Strangler": several letters with his thoughts on the notorious case one of which includes the line "the Boston Strangler has never been caught" : a handmade gift sent to Vivian Wyatt in Christmas 1972: thoughts upon the prison regime: advise to Vivian about men and sex: as well as candid signed photographs.

One of the last letters hinted to Vivian that he was on the verge of revealing big news, but that never happened. He was murdered in November 1975 the day before he was to meet his psychiatrist and make the revelations. His murder was never caught.

The existence of the letters was first made pubic in the July 24, 2001 edition of Dateline, NBC. Before then neither the police nor the various attorneys had known of the letters nor had examined the contents. Vivian Wyatt herself was the subject of a full page story in National Enquirer, May 7 2002.

The lots are being offered for sale within the monthly catalog of R&R Enterprises autograph auction. The auction closes at midnight on September 18th.
