Norbert Ruckel sent us a wonderful
set of images that once were part of the Wildflecken
Military Community Public Affairs Office briefing for
that barracks. The images date from 1884 - 1992. Most
troopers from the Eaglehorse and 2/14 ACR spent many
weeks at the Wildflecken ranges with little experience
at main post beyond the Range Control Office, Range
Support Warehouse, the Tent Issue and Return Point and
the Tisa Issue Point. After the return of the 2/11 ACR
from Kuwait, however, Wildflecken became the last German
home for the squadron. The photographs in the
briefing were professionally taken, focus on the
buildings of the military community and capture the
rugged beauty of the "barracks in the clouds".
