Colonel Helmut Schwarzaugl

Helmut Schwarzaugl of Bad Kissingen,  passed away on 20 August 2014.  He was a career Bundeswehr officer and commanded the Panzer Battalion 354 in Hammelburg.  He was a great friend of the American border cavalry in Germany from the days of the 14th ACR thru the entire period of the 11th ACR.

In retirement, he was a key player in the planning and execution of the various border cavalry reunions in Fulda. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Further details will be made available when known
